There is a feast of culture laid out in central Cape Town this September. Here are some of the highlights to keep on your radar in a packed and crowded field.

Central Cape Town is full of things to do with children of all ages. These are easily accessed on foot or by public transport, and many activities are free.

HOME TRUTHS: Domestic Interiors from South African Collections is on till 23 October. Curated by Michael Godby, this follows on from his two previous landmark exhibitions on Landscape and Still Life.

Hats off to the SA National Gallery for investing so highly in that goal that they created an exhibition which is exciting on anyone's terms.

Design and innovation that change lives will feature at Open Design Cape Town 2016, which takes place from 10 to 21 August 2016 at Cape Town City Hall and across the city.
